Step #1

To launch your career, you need to first enroll in the proper training program. Many institutions in BC offer training. Find the one that's right for you.

Lower Mainland

Vancouver Island

Central and Northern Interior

Step #2

The next step is to get an apprenticeship. Apprentices "earn while they learn". They get paid to work on actual jobsites, getting real experience, while still in school. You can find out everything you need to know about starting your apprenticeship through the Industry Training Authority of BC (external link). You can view our Members or Job Postings in your search for employers.

Step #3

After your apprenticeship (normally 4 years), you will become a Journeyman tradesperson. From there, you have many career paths ahead of you: Foreman, Estimator, and even owner of your own business!
