APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRESIDENT FOR 2016-2018

May 12, 2016 (Burnaby, BC) – Mechanical Contractors Association of British Columbia (MCABC) is proud to announce that following the success of the 2016 AGM and Conference at the Delta Grand in Kelowna (April), Dale Miller from Division 15 Mechanical Ltd. has been elected President of the organization. His term will be from 2016-2018.

Miller has 45 plus years of service in the mechanical contracting industry as a journeyman plumber in both Alberta and British Columbia. He has worked on commercial, institutional and industrial projects, notably the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, Red Deer Sports Complex, and the Fort McCurry Syncrude Project. For the past 12 years, as Principal of Division 15 Mechanical Ltd., he was the construction manager on the BCIT Aero Space Project, Abbotsford Agriculture Center, and the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) steam-to-hot water conversion district energy project. Division 15 Mechanical was the prime contractor on Phase 1-3 and 5-9 of the UBC project which started in 2012 and included 15 km of underground Distribution Piping System (DPS) and eight energy transfer stations (ETS). This steam-to-hot water conversion project, is one of the largest of its kind in North America, and was implemented in phases over 4 years, and completed in March 2016.You can read more about this project in the Fall issue of the MCABC Plumbing & Mechanical magazine.

As one of the founding members of Division 15 Mechanical Ltd. Miller is responsible for overall field operations within the company, he holds an Interprovincial T.Q. in plumbing and gas fitting along with being CCA Gold Seal Certified. Division 15 Mechanical Ltd. is an award-winning construction firm providing design-build, design-assist and construction services for Mechanical and District Energy Systems throughout British Columbia.

Upon his inauguration Miller states he “looks forward to continuing the tradition of past directors of creating an outstanding legacy for MCABC” with his mandate to increase membership whilst continuing to provide excellence in educational programs he hopes his passion for the mechanical industry, as being a rewarding and honourable profession, will encourage others to become a part of the professional organization.
